This article will provide the best methods to factory reset your Roku TV and what to check before doing so.

What to Check Before Factory Resetting Your Roku TV

Does your Roku really need factory resetting? Often, issues arise not from the TV but from the network or connected devices, such as the remote, Wi-Fi, or other issues. So, it is important to troubleshoot these problems before opting for a reset.

Here are the things to check before factory resetting your Roku TV:

  • Network.
An internet connection is crucial for Roku’s streaming services and updates. Before resetting your device, ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi signal for optimal internet speeds.
  • Inspect the HDMI Cables.
Checking the HDMI cables ensures the issue is unrelated to the TV’s ports or cables. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the wires to provide a secure connection.
  • Roku Remote Batteries.
Old batteries can cause the remote to malfunction. Replace your remote’s batteries with new ones and ensure you installed them correctly.
  • Updates.
Software updates ensure your TV is up-to-date and fixes bugs, providing optimal performance. Open “Settings > System > System Update > Check Now”  to confirm if your TV is up to date.
  • Storage.
Check and delete unused apps to free up resources and improve the TV’s responsiveness and speed. Press the “Home” button on your Roku remote and choose the app you want to remove. Click “*”  to open the “Options” menu and select “Remove app.”
